QC-Federal  Continuing Education

Welcome to QC-Federal — a site dedicated to exploring, discussing, and expanding on everything related to Quality Control in federal construction. Our goal is to help you strengthen your understanding of the Quality Control (QC) role and provide practical tools that go beyond the basics.

All federal Quality Control Managers (QCMs) and Project Engineers (PEs) are required to complete the USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (#784) course. This training is also highly recommended for site superintendents and project managers as an introduction to working alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on federal construction contracts.

While the official USACE/NAVFAC required course gives basic framework and government expectations they only briefly touch on many of the day-to-day activities, challenges, and expectations you’ll face on federal projects. That’s where this site comes in giving guidance as you progress in your understanding of proper QC-federal work.

CertificateUSACE Course Book Cover

This site will help fill the gaps in the USACE course curriculum so you have a good handle on what is expected with suggesting advanced "good practice" ideas for your consideration / implementation.
All viewed from the contractors prospective.

Here, you’ll find guidance that:

  • Fills the gaps left in the official USACE course curriculum.
  • Helps you gain a clearer picture of what is expected in practice, not just in theory.
  • Offers advanced “good practice” suggestions you can adapt and implement in your own projects.
  • Provides insights from the contractor’s perspective, complementing USACE’s official guidance.

We truly let you know what you've stepped in, eh, to... this role is not for everyone. Is QC for You?

Review the courses we have on offer and see where we can help. Each course has a curriculum page showing whats topics, once purchased these become links to the material.

FURTHER AFIELD

USACE has also published RMS training modules on YouTube. While these videos demonstrate functionality from USACE’s perspective, they often leave room for interpretation. QCM Extended Learning bridges that gap by offering practical explanations, contractor-focused examples, and real-world applications to help you work more effectively with both RMS 3 and your government counterparts.

You can try these independent courses to enhance your understanding of RMS 3 ...

We have recommendations for project directors / managers that, while adding a touch of work, saves and shares critical details that are usually left to the wind ... until ....
Look for "Project Managers" notes.

SIMILAR SOFTWARE

Many companies across the world now incorporate similar processes to the USACE RMS 3 software in layout and requirements.

The same QC submittal, RFI's, daily reports etc, project management processes are built into reflective software like ProCore, Project Mates, TRIRIGA etc. Knowing what it takes to pass these review's quickly and professionally (the first time) is essential/critical to a good C-PARS evaluation. (Covered in level 4).

Our services are designed for:

  1. New Quality Control Managers.
  2. Seasoned Quality Control Managers.
  3. Quality Control project engineers PE's.
